The children of Mars Hill are back on mission! During the month of September, they enjoyed a guest speaker to learn about the gleaning programs of Western North Carolina and focused on not wasting food. The children worked with The Lord’s Harvest to pack food boxes. Water scarcity was another topic of study as they learned how much water we use compared to children in Africa who must walk several miles to obtain water. Their final September project was to make cookies for Neighbors in Need Bake Sale. Each week the children memorized a Bible verse that relates to their study.
Children’s Church Update – The focus for children’s church during September was My Hope is in God and I can always count of Him. They listening to stories, played games, made crafts and studied Bible verses related to the teachings in Matthew 6:25-34. The children learned to apply the idea – Don’t Worry – Be Hopey!
